My mother was quite a bit younger than Art; so when she was a teenager (1947), she flew out to California and stayed with Art and Leone for a week. This was just a couple of years before they moved out of California and to Placentia. Mom told me all kinds of stories about their life on the island. I met Art and Leone, but was such a young child that I really didn't care; they were just two more adults to me. I do remember his mother, my Aunt Katheryne (also called Carrie) very well. We did go to Russellville often to visit her and she always gave us candy to take home with us because they ran a candy store. I am so envious that you got to visit Placentia Island! It is on my "bucket list" of trips I will make someday. If you go to the Southwest Harbor Public Library, you will see a large display of artifacts from the Kellam family which includes a picture of my mother (her senior picture that she sent to Art and he framed and displayed in their home).<br />Karen ClowerAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08493724234731399775noreply@blogger.com
